Yoga found Christian in 2009 when his mom, a yoga instructor, invited him to attend her class. He was challenged to explore parts of his body that had never been opened, and was surprised to find release from old emotional and psychological baggage that he was not even aware of carrying. This discovery of the inseparable nature of mind, body and spirit led Christian to delve deeper into the practice of yoga with the intention to bring balance to his whole being. As he eagerly practiced all styles of yoga that he encountered, a sense of steadiness and ease precipitated in his mind and body, and the stresses of everyday life became less engrossing and more manageable. As yoga led Christian to practice self-study more intimately, he was able to articulate his deepest passion of reducing suffering in the world. Inspired by his mom’s work as an instructor and the easing of his own suffering through practice, he knew that one day he too would love to share the gift of yoga with his community through teaching.
In the Fall of 2015, he completed Yoga Tribe's 200 Hour Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Training and continued his education with four weeks of hands-on experience and personalized feedback in a mentorship program with his teacher training lead, Shannon Kassoff. Christian is passionate about all styles of yoga and wishes to learn everything he can, so he can offer the practice in a way that is accessible to everyone, regardless of experience or physical condition. He is registered with Yoga Alliance as an RYT-200 certified instructor, and his continued education includes:
In total Christian has completed over 300 hours of training and 340 hours of teaching, including studio classes, workshops, yoga teacher training guest lectures, retreats and private sessions. He is currently enrolled in 300 Hour Advanced Teacher Training with the Soma Yoga Instituteat Better Living Yoga. Christian's thirst for knowledge and desire to share this transformative practice with the world inspires him to continue learning on the mat, through personal study and more training. He aims to challenge himself and his students to continue to experience yoga in new and different ways, while honoring the timeless traditions that gave rise to these practices.
